The Tales of a Displaced Worker
Published January 2020
From the Preface: “I really hope you didn’t just get the news that your college is about to close. That kind of news isn’t easy to face. I know this from personal experience. In May 2018, the college where I worked closed with six weeks’ notice. In the time since it closed, I have tried to figure out what my next steps should be, including posting blog posts focused on student affairs. I also began to chronicle my job search journey and pulled the posts into a book. Tales of a Displaced Worker will cover a year in my life after the announcement of the college closure. Topics will include how to manage some of the immediate needs, such as crafting a resume, to managing the emotional issues, like maintaining your tribe.”
